The Saiga 12 is a semi-automatic AK patterned shotgun that is chambered in 12 gauge that is designed for the civilian market. The Saiga 12 is basically an AK shotgun, it is popular with many shooters that are familiar with the AK family of rifles such as the AK47, AKM, and AK74. In recent days, the Saiga 12 is mostly being used for competition shooting and it does make an appearance in many video games, most notably in Escape from Tarkov.

Ever since the introduction of automatic shotguns, airsofters, and collectors alike have always been wanting to get airsoft versions of said automatic shotguns. Maruzen gave us the M1100 Live Shell Automatic Shell Ejecting Airsoft Shotgun and Tokyo Marui gave us the AA12 and the SGR-12 electric airsoft shotguns. The Tokyo Marui AEG shotguns, although could fire fully automatic, are well, AEGs and do not have the realism factor such as recoil and action, not to mention that there are some fields that straight up ban these fully automatic airsoft shotguns due to the scary nature of these airsoft gun. The Maruzen M1100 gas shell ejecting shotgun on the other hand, is quite realistic as it allows you to load, and eject shells and it fires semi-automatic, however, it is quite hard to obtain both the shotgun and the shells, not to mention that once all the shells are ejected, you will have to pick them up afterward, making it a chore.

Speaking of Tokyo Marui, these guys have done it again, launching another first-ever product, The Saiga-12K gas airsoft shotgun. This airsoft shotgun mitigates all the cons of existing automatic airsoft shotguns and much more. First of all, the Tokyo Marui Saiga-12K is a faithful replica of the real steel Saiga 12K, K stands for "Korotkaya" which is "Short" in Russian. This gas airsoft shotgun fires semi-automatic and on each trigger pull the gun fires 3 BBs at the same time. This feature is similar to most Tokyo Marui shotgun offerings, but do note that, unlike the Tokyo Marui M870 series pump action shotgun, the Tokyo Marui Saiga-12K could not be set to fire 6 BBs in the same time or has fully automatic like the Tokyo Marui AA12 or the SRG-12 electric airsoft shotguns, but in return it delivers tight and accurate groupings, being able to send all 3 BBs in a 1-inch group at 10 meters while giving the user a sharp recoil impulse even when using weaker HFC134a gas.

Externally, this gas airsoft shotgun features an adjustable front sight, AK74M style folding stock, an AK style dovetail rail that allows you to add optics to the Saiga 12K gas airsoft shotgun as well as a 23mm threaded barrel. The front sight can be adjusted with a tool that comes in the box, and an AK-style dovetail rail mount is to be purchased separately, you can check out some of our offerings in the related products shown underneath. Tokyo Marui noted that they will produce more products supporting this platform, so do stay tuned for more!

Finally, magazine, the gas magazine that comes with the Tokyo Marui Saiga-12K is a chonky boy, being it is modeled after the real Saiga 12 that holds 12 gauge rounds. This gas magazine, however, holds 45 rounds, allowing you to pull the trigger 15 times before needing to reload. The Tokyo Marui Saiga-12K magazine comes with a Celsius temperate thermometer inside, which can be accessed by pushing the tab under the knocker valve and pulling the shell apart. Tokyo Marui noted that the optimal temperature to run their Saiga-12K is to keep the magazine at around 25-30 degrees Celsius and it is not recommended to run the magazine at over 40 degrees or under 15 degrees Celsius.

Worth every cent

One of the best airsoft guns I’ve ever owned, easy to use, easy to disassemble, good for short range, long range even with heavy bbs since the fixed hop up unit is set to maximum , and the third party accessories that are already out for it are amazing. You can even use real steel handguards and stocks on it! The only downside is the magazines’ gas capacity lasts just over one mag but given the fact its a gbbr tri shot shotgun this is understandable. Loading the mags can be done with a standard speed loader, it comes with an adapter but if you angle it right you don’t really need it. Definately recommend getting the short outer barrel for it especially if you’re using it for cqb. TLDR: Awesome gun overall, huge gas hog, outdoor and indoor ready.

Beast of a gun

This is one of the most fun airsoft guns I've ever owned. Just unique in every aspect including design and the engineering which is amazing. It's pretty impressive that Tokyo Marui was able to engineer this tri-shot GBBR. It's a keeper. Beware that it does use a lot of gas but it's expected since it needs to pump out 3 BBs each time.
