15 Best Airsoft Masks
Mesh Masks - Easy Fit
Mesh masks are probably some of the most easily accessible masks many of us use when we play. They are relatively comfortable, provide a good amount of protection, and best of all, they are pretty cheap. Here are some that I found, for the category, I think they are some of the best airsoft masks.
15. TMC Spartan Mesh Half Face Airsoft Mask
The Spartan mesh mask a great option for players that want something basic and minimalistic. The mesh featured on the front of the mask covers most of your face including all of your nose and mouth as well as large portions of your chin. A little bonus is the small section of velcro on the bottom of the mask which lets you to accessorize with some morale patches. When looking at the many different airsoft face protection options, this mask is a great place to start.
14. TMC PDW Soft Side 2.0 Mesh Mask
The PDW soft side mask conceptually is the same as the regular mesh mask but instead of it being full mesh, it replaces the cheek protection with robust nylon covering draped over some foam padding. Speaking from personal experience, this one scores top marks from me when it comes to comfort and gives me enough protection where I feel comfortable. Ranking it as one of the best airsoft masks makes a lot of sense given the fact that it also comes with a few different strap options depending on what feels best for you.
13. TMC Mesh Airsoft Mask with Ear Cover
When we think about face protection the first place we usually want to protect is our eyes and the second is our mouth. Our ears often become an afterthought when thinking about what could be considered one of the best airsoft masks. For this reason, this mesh mask with ear covers could be the best option for those that are looking for something low profile while giving you that added reassurance that your ears are not going to get shot out while playing. This mask has much of the same benefits as the regular mesh mask as well as some of the same drawbacks but the added ear protection is welcome making this a pretty good choice when looking at the different airsoft face protection options.
12. TMC Strike Mesh Full Face Mask
Mesh masks are easy to shape into forms that can cover more of your face and this full face mesh mask does just that. The Strike mesh mask also comes with an eye cut out that fits a wide variety of eye protection, making it a great choice for players just getting into airsoft. Being the first full face mask on this list of best airsoft masks, it’s inexpensive, highly breathable, and easy to put on and remove.

The TMC Extreme metal mesh airsoft mask is ideal for those that want added protection. This mask is a full wrap-around style mask that closely resembles that used by fencing athletes. The mask offers ideal protection for players that might be exposed to incoming fire for prolonged periods of time like gunners. The inside of the mask is lined with soft padding that is also semi-breathable making this mask much more comfortable than many might expect it to be. Plastic Masks - Something for Everyone
Plastic masks can be considered the next step up for many people. It provides a fair amount of impact resistance so it will be sure to protect your face and when considering the many different airsoft face protection options available, they can also be more flexible when compared to the aforementioned mesh mask. Plastic masks are usually slightly flexible and have more give than the rigid metal used in mesh masks. Here are some of the best airsoft masks that are made from plastic.
10. Sansei SG-5-N
This mask is probably one of the most iconic airsoft masks. Featured in comic books and other printed materials about airsoft coming out of Japan, this mask was synonymous with airsoft’s early days. This mask might look quite dated but its flexible lower face protection does comfortably wrap around your chin and cheeks, providing you a fair amount of protection. The eye protection portion can be removed as well for you to use your own set if you so choose.
9. Impact-Rated Goggle w/Airsoft Mask
This is the second plastic mask on our list that features built-in eye protection as a set. As its name suggests, this mask is impact-rated and is of a higher quality plastic construction compared to the previous Sansei mask. Earning a place on our list of best airsoft masks, the impact mask, much like the Sansei, is slightly flexible allowing it to absorb the force of the BBs flying at your face. However, the materials used are more rugged and designed to provide better all-round safety when playing against airsoft guns that are higher power. The goggles that are included with the mask are also tougher than many that simply offer mesh eye protection.
8. Samurai Mask
The Samurai mask is one of the more stylized masks on our list of best airsoft masks and if you are looking for something less “tactical” while considering all the different airsoft face protection options, this might be the winner for you. The mask mounts on to a face shroud of sorts using velcro for ease of use. The shroud itself is a flexible, wetsuit-like material that is comfortable while fitting nicely to your head. The mask itself is hard plastic and will withstand a fair amount of punishment. You can be sure this mask is going to be a great conversation starter on any airsoft field.
7. TMC Mandible for OC Highcut Helmet
The complete opposite of the Samurai mask, the Mandible is something for you if you are specifically looking for a tactical option. The mandible provides probably the most complete lower face protection when looking for the best airsoft masks. Its full plastic construction wraps around your face and is covered by tough nylon fabric in many different styles of camouflage. Probably the best feature of this particular mask is its compatibility with OC style helmets and can be mounted directly onto it. This also makes this mask probably one of the most comfortable options as it offers a little buffer between your face and the mask itself, making air circulation much better than potentially many of the other airsoft face protection options on this list.
6. TMC JAY FAST Mask
The JAY FAST mask is much like the mandible seen above. While also quite tactical, the JAY is slightly more stylized. It offers the wearer a more futuristic, robotic soldier aesthetic with its mesh vents and angular design. The mask is made from flexible plastic that deals well with airsoft guns that shoot at a higher energy. Underneath the mask is foam inserts that make the wearing experience very comfortable and like the mandible, it provides some separation between the wearer and the mask itself, offering great ventilation.
Full Face Masks - Full Face Protection
When we are looking at finding the best airsoft masks, what actually comes to mind many times are these full face masks. Its to no surprise that when considering this, many of us wonder what is actually the best airsoft full face mask rather than other masks that only provide partial covering. In the grand scheme of airsoft face protection options, the full face mask undoubtedly provides the best protection from bbs and other potential hazards to our face and even eyes. As our final category, I have saved the best for last!
5. TMC Full Head IM Style Mesh Airsoft Mask
While this is still considered a mesh mask, I felt like it was more reasonable to place this one here with the full face masks rather than with the mesh masks. The reason for this is the fact that this mask covers your full head, as stated in the name. This mask has ear protection that the other full face mesh mask does not have and it's noticeably larger than the others as it is designed to give you a full wrap around fit. While it may not be the highest-ranked when considering best airsoft masks, it will offer protection second to none.
4. TMC SPT Mesh Airsoft Mask
The name of this mask can be a little misleading as you would probably think this is just another mesh mask. However, it's more akin to the previous JAY mask we discussed under plastic masks. The SPT mask forms what resembles a Spartan or Roman warrior’s helmet design on the front with some mesh protection however that's where all the mesh ends. It is mountable to many different styles of helmets with its bungee cords and offers more face protection than seen on many other similar masks. If you are looking to be a futuristic spartan warrior, this might be the best airsoft full face mask for you!
3. RWL Airsoft Skull 40D Mask
The RWL skull mask gives you a more “menacing” vibe when you are on the airsoft field with its red paint and demonic look. The mask is hard plastic and provides exceptional protection as it's also hard painted to add extra structural integrity. The eye slots are lined with mesh and the rear of the mask features bungee straps with a large piece of nylon fabric that is very comfortable. Though the inside of the mask is quite bare, it was designed as such to lighten up the overall weight of the mask and offering better airflow.
2. Tokyo Marui Pro Mask Goggle with Fogless Fan
This mask from Tokyo Marui is a great full-face choice when being considered for one of the best airsoft masks. The reason being, this mask not only features a flexible yet robust plastic body, but it also has good eye protection. The goggles protect against UV and feature a small fan that continually defogs the lens allowing you to play in hotter and more humid climates. Not to mention its flexible construction allows the user to actually cheek their rifle, making this mask a great option if you are looking for one you can use in areas around the world that are usually hotter than others.
1. Dye Precision i5 Full Face Mask Goggle System
While many of the masks here are great in their own right and I have tried to not rank them necessarily by what is “best” and the others are “worst”, I do have to say these masks from Dye Precision, especially the i5, are probably the best airsoft full face mask. The construction of the Dye masks have always been very streamlined and features materials that are rugged and robust. The outer protection materials are strong yet flexible allowing you to cheek your rifle and the inside materials are soft and comfortable. The Dye Precision masks also feature a very large and strong lens that is interchangeable allowing the user to change the tint of the lens as necessary for different outdoor or indoor lighting conditions. Finally, the Dye Precision i5 features a thick strap that wraps behind the head of the wearer that locks into place with a unique twisting system that is both secure and comfortable. All of these factors really make the Dye Precision i5 one of the best airsoft masks when you are considering the many different airsoft face protection options.
