Tanaka S&W M360J Sakura Japan Coast Guard .38 Speical 1-7/8 inch Heavy Weight Gas Revolver

The Tanaka S&W M360J Sakura Model Gun is a faithful replica of the current Japanese Coast Guard sidearm. Adopted in 2006, the M360J Sakura was modeled after the Smith & Wesson SC / PD family of scandium aluminum alloy J-Frame revolvers, these revolvers are made to be lightweight but robust. Also, unlike most J-frame revolvers, these revolvers have an elongated grip for better ergonomics a more comfortable grip, and a lanyard hoop as required by both the Japanese Coast Guard and the Japanese Police Force which also uses the same model sidearm.

Tanaka has truly crafted a gem that, at first glance, looks as if it is a metal gun. However, this detailed finish can easily deceive even the keen-eyed among us, as the revolver is made of high-quality heavyweight ABS plastic. Do not be fooled, though plastic, nothing about this M360J can be considered "cheap" as it carries a fair amount of weight and when paired with an assortment of metal parts, it certainly feels as if it's a metal gun. Metal parts such as the hammer, trigger, and cylinder give the pistol a real-life-like aesthetic making it not only a great choice for collectors but can even be used in film or cosplay as a prop!

The action of the gun is a joy as the double action is smooth and direct, pulling the trigger slowly feels buttery with no "grit" feeling at all. When the hammer is pulled back, the trigger breaks soft and the sound of the cylinder rotating exemplifies the effort Tanaka put in to make this revolver a standout.
