The S&W Model 2 Army is the first .32 caliber revolver was a prefer backup weapon to the average American Civil War solider, many soldiers on either sides of the war were either issued with this or privately purchased this for self-defense, Major General George Armstrong Custer was known to have a pair of cased and engraved S&W Army Model 2 revolvers.
This particular Model 2 was famously used by a Japanese Samurai, Sakamoto Ryoma during the Teradaya Incident. According to the letters sent by Ryoma to his family after the incident, Ryoma was attack by 10 spearman sent by a Shogunate to either arrest or assassinate him, he then defended himself using a Smith & Wesson Model 2.
This Marushin S&W Model 2 Army is a high quality replica of the pistol used by Sakamoto Ryoma. The gun comes incased in a wooden box with the words "The gun of Sakamoto Ryoma" writen on it in Kanji. The gun has realistic action, and breaks open just like the real one. Unlike most revolvers, the cylinder of the pistol has to be removed completely to reload.
