The Karabiner 98 kurz rifle is a carbine version of the venerable Gewher 98 which served the soldiers of Imperial Germany during the Great War. The conclusion of the Great War brought rise to the Nazi regime in Germany, and a man with a weird mustache wanted to take revenge for the humiliation of the German people, whatever that meant. He then created plans to take Europe by storm, by mechanizing his troops, having a big long rifle meant for trench-to-trench fighting is just too bulky and practically useless in close combat situations, a carbine made far more sense, so the Kar98k or K98k was born, adopted by all military branches of the Third Reich from June 21st, 1935 to the collapse of the Nazi regime in 1945. The Kar98k however still sees limited service long after World War 2, usually as a ceremonial weapon but also sometimes in the hands of irregular fighting groups

The Marushin Mauser Kar98K Airsoft Sniper is a faithful replica of the Wehrmacht's service rifle, which is also fully licensed by Mauser, so you can expect all the period correct markings that came with the real Kar98k. Other than having the correct markings, the rifle is made with a high-quality walnut stock, and the receiver, bolt, and barrel are made of either metal or weighted polymers, just to add to the authenticity since the rifle has the year 1942 stamped on it, it features light weathering to make the gun appear like it was stored in a weapons cache untouched only to be unearthed recently, like all the World War 2 guns found in Syria and Ukraine. All this attention to detail is what you could expect only with the finest Japanese craftsmanship, which this Marushin model certainly has.

Adding to the overall realism is that this airsoft Mauser features shell ejection, you have to manually load a BB into each metal shell, then load it into the rifle like you would the real one, inserting shells one by one or using the provided stripper clip. The Marushin Mauser Kar98K Airsoft Sniper is a gas-operated rifle with gas being charged into the bolt, please do note that this is a Japanese-made airsoft gun and may not stand up to the rigors of green gas and other stronger gases, and is designed only to run with HFC134a or duster gas, green gas is not recommended and will increase the overall wear and tear.
