Heretic Labs "ARTICLE 1"
Introducing the ultimate HPA speedsoft masterpiece by Heretic Labs. The Article 1 redefines performance by discarding the burdensome conventions of mil-sim orthodoxy and focusing solely on what matters. Crafted with precision, its rugged yet lightweight MTW CNC billet aluminum receiver boasts a skeletonized design, eliminating unnecessary elements like the charging handle, buffer tube, and stock. Showcasing their bleeding-edge tech design, Heretic Labs added a genuine carbon fiber outer barrel with a 14mm CCW thread that replaces the rail assembly, ensuring a front end that remains agile, resulting in an incredibly light pistol weight of just 2.1lb.
At the heart of the Article 1 lies the time-tested and dependable INFERNO Gen 2 HPA engine, now equipped with an upgraded control board featuring an exciting new binary trigger option. Enhancing the shooting experience, the CNC speed trigger incorporates an ingenious Delrin bearing, delivering an unparalleled smooth pull, with the added flexibility of optional adjustments for pre-travel, post-travel, and actuation.
Built on the MTW-Spec foundation, the Article 1 offers limitless customization possibilities, seamlessly compatible with a vast array of MTW-Spec and real-steel aftermarket components. Get creative as the sky is the limit when it comes to personalizing the Article 1 from Heretic Labs!
This is a speedsoft-oriented piece, the price tag may put off some of you out there but after a discussion with a Hong Kong-based Speedsoft team that calls themselves GOS, they gave us a bit of an insight on why they think that the Article 1 is a mid-tier / semi-entry level gun to be competitive in speedsoft. GOS noted that the bare minimum to be somewhat competitive in Speedsoft is an HPA-powered Hi-Capa style pistol, but when you wish to enter the realm of a purpose-built Speedsoft gun, you are looking at north of US$1500 without the trial and error of course. In an interview with Deep, GOS's team captain and the main tech of the team, with the experience of either building or helping with building every single HPA gun that their team runs competitively, before the introduction of the Article 1, there isn't a speedsoft oriented airsoft gun that you could get right out of the box, meaning each competitive gun was built from scratch. This forced him to face a lot of trial and error to build what's best for the team, with the main issues being the fitment of different engines with gearboxes and receivers to the hop-up unit, and even then, they were surprised at how consistently and accurately the Article 1 performed, to a point their entire team is thinking about switching over to Heretic Lab's creation.
With the Article 1, players will no longer need to go out of their way to build a competitive speedsoft gun from scratch, and forking out cash could buy you one and a half Article 1.
