Umarex / VFC MG4 LMG Airsoft AEG

The Heckler & Koch MG4, designed as the successor to the versatile MG3, aims to replace the light machine gun (LMG) with a modern, lightweight alternative suitable for various roles within the Bundeswehr. This airsoft version, produced by VFC and licensed by Umarex (Elite Force), mirrors its real steel counterpart with a remarkable weight of just 4.2kg, ensuring easy manoeuvrability thanks to its foldable stock. At the front, a birdcage flash hider safeguards a 14mm CCW threaded outer barrel, allowing for the attachment of muzzle and tracer devices. The dedicated polymer handguard offers a comfortable grip, complemented by a Picatinny rail interface for mounting additional accessories and a deployable bipod.

The MG4 receiver is adorned with licensed trademarks and rollmarks, featuring familiar fire controls reminiscent of the H&K styling, enabling users acquainted with the H&K system to adapt swiftly. The functional charging handle enhances realism during reloading, designed to fold to prevent snagging. Crafted from high-quality aluminium and high strength polymer, the robust body ensures durability in intense skirmishes, while its lightweight structure facilitates prolonged use in the field. The polymer folding stock includes an ergonomic shoulder support and can be folded while still allowing operation of the MG4. The rear stock accommodates a Li-Po battery, with a deans (T-Plug) connection for optimal energy transfer efficiency.

A distinctive feature of the VFC MG4 is its dual magazine design, incorporating an internal reservoir magazine beneath the dust cover. This internal magazine holds up to 900 rounds of BBs, providing ample ammunition for the LMG without the need for a drum magazine. For those requiring more capacity, a 4000-round drum magazine is included. This drum magazine boasts a unique battery-less design, allowing the loading wheel to wind effortlessly through contact points on the locking latch, directly linking the magazine to the MG4's main battery for convenient loading. The VFC MG4 is an excellent addition to any support gunner's loadout, offering lightweight construction and substantial magazine capacity, with an 18 rounds per second fire rate that ensures sustained fire in prolonged engagements, making it a valuable asset for any machine gunner's arsenal.
