RWA Agency Arms EXA Gas Pistol (US Version)
Contoured Backstrap (SIG and XDM Profile)
The RWA Agency Arms EXA Pistol is the first Gas Airsoft Pistol that RWA has ever released under the combined Agency Arms & Lone Wolf Distribution licenses. Most notably, this pistol is the same one used in exactly this configuration by Agency Arms Asset Paul Vandunk! Upon first glance, the EXA boasts Agency Arms' 'EXA Hybrid slide cut', mid-line fluted outer barrel, and blacked-out inner barrel for added realism. Rather unique to the EXA's look is how the slide and outer barrel sit flush with each other, seldom seen on other pistols! It also includes Lone Wolf's signature Timberwolf frame custom made to Agency's specifications. Out of the box, the pistol comes pre-installed with a fiber optic front sight and blackout rear sight, allowing for a cleaner sight picture which gives you the visual consistency akin to that of a standard red dot optic.
Apart from the aforementioned features, the EXA pistol comes with the adjustable Syndicate trigger which is new to the RWA Agency Arms line-up. Besides sporting the Syndicate branding, it allows you to fine-tune the sensitivity and take-up. Out of the box, the trigger is solid and responsive with a very audible and positive reset. The trigger break is clean and running it shot after shot further solidifies it as a high-quality custom trigger. For those that want to have control over every aspect of the shooting experience, this crisp trigger truly brings it to another level.
Progressing past the trigger is the frame. As stated, this is a fully licensed Timberwolf frame by Lone Wolf Distributors and upon casual inspection, it already bears stark differences from the basic Glock frame. To start, it features a straighter grip angle for a more natural grip and a higher beaver tail designed to better mitigate recoil. Agency Arms took it one step further by having it modded to their specifications. The frame seen on the EXA pistol features the signature accelerator cuts towards the front that acts as a thumb shelf for better recoil control and the reversible magazine release makes this pistol friendly for both left and right-handed shooters. The faux stippling seen on the EXA pistol is called "Shark Scale" and offers probably one of the best out-of-the-box gripping experiences seen on any pistol of this kind. Furthermore, the frame comes with the ability to change out its back-straps for a more custom fit for shooters that might be more comfortable with 1911s, XDMs, or SIGs (depending on the back-strap used, slimline for 1911s, or contoured for XDM and SIG). It's no surprise that many real steel Glock users upgrade to the Timberwolf frame!
The Agency Arms EXA pistol's magazine comes with a bumper which in the real steel world offers two extra rounds of capacity. In this airsoft pistol, it is purely for aesthetics, though, it can provide a base level of protection for your magazine from the elements and some potential fall damage. Reloading the magazine is very smooth as it's designed to work seamlessly with the low-profile magwell that comes pre-installed with every EXA pistol. You can also enjoy this ease of use with some other magazines compatible with the EXA as well such as magazines from Umarex / VFC Glocks and TM G series magazines (not entirely a 100% fit, some smoothing is necessary with TM magazines).
Finally, the EXA pistol's footprint is similar to that of a Glock 17 which means you can use many of the same accessories such as lights, lasers, and holsters.

Great product at a great price
This gun comes into a market that is very saturated with an immense number of parts, accessories, and variations for the "G Series" style of GBBP. However, it manages to be unique and very good despite these circumstances. First, the gun comes with Agency Arms parts, which is not only very desirable in the market today, but also looks very nice. On top of that, you get all of the support of the after market as this gun is made with some of the most common (or soon-to-be common) parts in the G Series market: Gen 3 Barrel and Hop Up with a Gen 5 Blowback system. The best of both worlds. Magazine compatibility is good : The EXA was able to take Marui G17 mags and WE G17 mags easily (do be aware though that because of the EXA's magwell, it might be difficult to take out mags that don't have an extended base). Gas efficiency, as expected, is great and the gun has a crisp action working in tandem with the adjustable trigger, strong spring, and slide with the large cuts. After shooting a few mags with it and breaking in all moving parts (and after a clean and re-lube) the gun is very fluid and easy. I had the intention of modifying the internals, but as of right now, I don't think the EXA needs anything else other than an aftermarket inner barrel and hop up, and maybe some external accessories. Lastly, as a U.S customer, I am extremely grateful that the EXA can be shipped very easily and safely with RedWolf's Economy shipping. Getting a licensed Agency Arms pistol ready to shoot out of the box for only $150 is a great deal and puts other competing pistols on edge. I am very happy with this and look forward to seeing many more collaboration between RWA and Agency Arms! ***Note For U.S customers, the orange tip is glued AND threaded. I did not expect it to be threaded, and accidentally removed the outer tip without the thread parts. so that was difficult to remove. I believe the thread is 11mm, but i am not sure. I am also not sure if it is positive or negative. I'm sure RedWolf could answer that through an inquiry. [REDWOLF] Due to US regulations requiring a red tip, the US version EXA has a different barrel tip than the International version of the EXA, which has a beveled barrel tip. US law requires that the orange tip be permanently attached to the front of the barrel so it is glued in place. It is meant to be sufficiently difficult to remove so that it cannot be challenged by US customs.
The gun is extremely beautiful, it fits amazing in my hands. I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase. Also, the gas reservoirs in the magazine is incredible as well. The only complaint is that the U.S. version comes with an internally threaded barrel. I would’ve rather preferred it come with an externally threaded barrel instead. [REDWOLF] The internally threaded barrel is only to hold the orange tip that is required by US law. It is not intended to mounting a silencer. RWA may release an externally threaded outer barrel at a later stage, if you wish to mount a suppressor onto the EXA. We're glad you like the EXA!
Just played my first game with my new pistol. My elite force Gen 5 mags work perfectly with this pistol. Cycles great and is very snappy. Couldn’t ask for a better pistol at the price. It’s a great looking gun and feels super comfortable in my hands. Shark skin stippling on the lower is awesome and really helps get a good grip on the gun. I like the extended beaver tail that allows for my hands to get high up on the grip. Gas efficiency is great. Wish there was a threaded outer barrel but like I said, for the price, it’s a perfect gun. I didn’t even bother playing with my M4 all day! [RedWolf] Thank you for the awesome review. We're glad you like this pistol so much!
