KSC MK23 Socom Airsoft CO2 Pistol (Japan Version)

The MK23 SOCOM Pistol is no stranger to the airsoft world, as non-blowbacks, springers, and blowback versions were created by makes such as KWA, Tokyo Marui, and even Novritsch, arguably all iterations of the MK23 airsoft pistols were great, and this one from KSC is no exception. The H&K MK23 pistol was first introduced in 1996 as a request by the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) as they have a need for an "Offensive Handgun Weapons System" or OHWS. Although USSCOM did adopt this platform, it did not see too widespread use or adoption due to the sheer size and the price of this pistol.

However, in popular culture, the MK23 was famously used by Solid Snake in the hit video game series Metal Gear. and it has always been a favorite with airsofters. The KSC MK23 Socom is a CO2 blowback gas airsoft pistol that is a faithful replica of the MK23 pistol. Made of high-quality polymers (this is done so to comply with Japanese airsoft laws) this MK23 feels solid to the grip, and you can definitely feel the beefiness of this airsoft pistol. Everything about the MK23 is big, and its size is comparable with the legendary Desert Eagle and it would require a pair of larger hands to operate this bad boy.

The KSC MK23, unlike most airsoft MK23s on the market, has functional controls, the decocker and ambidextrous thumb safety on this airsoft replica are all functional, giving airsofters the realism we longed for. Adding to the realism, the gun fires in both single and double action, meaning this CO2 airsoft pistol will fire simply by pulling the trigger even when the hammer is down, which is just like the real thing.

The KSC MK23 being a CO2-powered pistol, utilizes 12g CO2 cartridges, which can be inserted into the magazine that holds 27 rounds of BBs. KSC claims that with one CO2 cartridge, the gun is able to fire about 50 shots, However, a few Japanese airsoft YouTubers have claimed that they could fire 60 rounds before needing a replenishment which means this CO2 pistol is quite gas efficient given that it has blowback.

Finally, the KSC has adjustable sights and hop-up, for the hop-up adjustment, simply use the tool that comes with the gun and stick it in the breech, and rotate for more or less Hop. Please note that the KSC MK23 CO2 airsoft pistol has a 16mm CW threaded outer barrel just like most MK23 airsoft pistols, you will have to get 16mm CW threaded muzzle devices or a 16mm CW to 14mm CCW adaptor like the Nine Ball (LayLax) Silencer Adapter S.A.S Neo. Do also note that the KSC MK23 Co2 airsoft pistol has a proprietary H&K style accessory rail and it could only take accessories like the LAM module found on the Tokyo Marui MK23 gas airsoft pistol.
