Stark Arms SA226T GBB Airsoft Pistol

Nothing is sexier than a 226 with optics.

The P226 was designed for entry into the XM9 Service Pistol Trials (see also Joint Service Small Arms Program) that were held by the US Army in 1984 on behalf of the US Armed Forces to find a replacement for the M1911A1 and 24 other makes of handgun in US military service. Only the Beretta 92SBF and the SIG P226 satisfactorily completed

the trials. According to a GAO report, Beretta was awarded the M9 contract for the 92F due to a lower total package price. The P226 cost less per pistol than the 92F, but SIG's package price with magazines and spare parts was higher than Beretta's. The Navy SEALs, however, later chose to adopt the P226 as the P226 MK25 with special corrosion protection.

The Stark Arms SA226T is a high-quality, 1:1 Airsoft replica of the aforementioned pistol. Based on the VFC P226 GBB engine, it features the same guide-hop adjustment system, allowing users to easily tune the hop on the fly by simply pulling back the slide and twist the recoil rod for more or less hop. The Stark Arms SA226 is a full metal pistol build, with steel components in the hammer group assembly. The take down lever, slide lock, and decocker lever are also made of steel, further reinforcing the whole structure.

What makes the Stark Arms SA226 unique is that it comes fully optic ready out of the box, with the optics plate being universal, allowing the user to mount RMR and RMSc footprint optics with ease. The pistol also comes with co-witness front and rear iron sights, with the front sight equipped with a green fiber optic rod. This makes sighting in a breeze and also allows for faster target acquisition. It also comes equipped with a 14mm CCW threaded outer barrel for mounting suppressors and tracer units, and a 26 round gas full metal magazine.

The Stark Arms SA226 completely replicates the double/single action design with a functioning decocker. This allows you to chamber a round while having the hammer down in a safe and neutral position. This makes taking the first shot a deliberate action as the trigger pull on double action requires the full motion, while the subsequent follow-up shots in single-action are right on the wall, crisp, and light. This is line with most double/single action doctrine, as operators are required to take the split second to make a conscious decision when taking the first shot.

Overall, the Stark Arms SA226 is a great Airsoft pistol to add to your armoury! It feels incredibly smooth to shoot with it's stout, yet snappy recoil impulse. The front and rear serrations allow for easy slide manipulations even with gloves on, and decocking the hammer just feels like you're taming a wild animal thats just ready to pounce. The grip feels really well molded in a medium to large sized hand and the grip panel texture is reminiscent of the design incorporated by the Legion series of P226s. There is a reason why the P226 platform is used by elite operators for many years.
