Strike Industries Go Crazy for the KP9
The PP-19-01 "Vityaz" is a compact, direct blowback-operated AK submachine gun platform from the Russian Federation. It represents a further evolution of the PP-19 "Bizon" SMG line, largely replacing the Bizon due to reliability issues associated with its helical magazine design. The Vityaz employs a more conventional curved magazine system and utilizes the more powerful 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge, as opposed to the Russian-made 9x18mm cartridge. Based on the AK-74U platform, it shares a high degree of parts commonality with the full-sized AK series, along with providing fire control familiarity for AK users. Commissioned by the Russian MVD, the SMG was designed for counter-terrorism operations and law enforcement, necessitating effective and accurate fire at close ranges. Production of the Vityaz commenced in 2008 and has seen adoption by Russian Spetsnaz units of the Interior Ministry, the FSB, various Russian law enforcement agencies, as well as the Namibian Marines and the Uruguayan Police.
This KP9 GBB Airsoft SMG by Toxicant is an enhanced build of the PP-19-01 that uses a cloned MWS engine that originated from Tokyo Marui's line of GBB AKs, featuring a stamped steel receiver and dust cover with various other steel external parts and components, it ensures reliability and durability during intense skirmishes. The Toxicant KP9 GBB Airsoft SMG has a 1913 Picatinny rail up top on the dust cover for installing optics and also has a dovetail side optic mount, for if the user opts to go for a more traditional Russian-style optic system. The muzzle features a 14mm CCW thread that is paired with a removable triple ported muzzle break, allowing for the attachment of various muzzle devices or tracer units, and is complemented with a steel faux gas block and front sight combination. It also comes with a traditional stamped steel paddle fire selector that easily switches between the 3 modes: Safe, Full-Auto, and Semi-Auto, and is equipped with a polymer magwell that utilizes a simple magazine paddle release.
With the KP9 utilizing the critically acclaimed Tokyo Marui MWS system, the internal components at its core, like the fire controls, are made of dense zinc-alloy, while the bolt carrier is machined from aluminum, making the whole assembly more than enough to ensure parts longevity and reliability down the line. The bolt carrier houses the nozzle, which is equipped with an NPAS valve out of the box, allowing users to easily adjust the power output to suit various game regulations for both indoors and outdoors as well as to complement different BB weights for those who absolutely go crazy for the best shot-to-shot performance. The KP9 utilizes a convenient adjustable hop-up system, which is a rotary knob that is located just beneath the left of the rear sight block, allowing users to adjust the hop on the fly without tools and with relative ease. The gun comes with a 38-round gas-powered magazine that features a visible follower for real-time ammo count. The magazine can typically accommodate 2-3 magazines on a full tank before requiring a refill, and it includes an additional safe switch for added safety.
The Toxicant KP9 GBB Airsoft SMG comes with a host of SI's tactical enhancements, like an SI tactical M-LOK handguard, an enhanced charging handle for a more intuitive manual of arms, an ergonomic SI pistol grip that allows for a straighter grasp and is aided with aggressive grip textures, and a lightweight, low-profile SI tactical side-folding stock that folds to the right. This gives the KP9 enhanced modularity when it comes to attachments and accessories, and gives the PP-19 platform a more modernized aesthetic without compromising weight and bulk.
Given that it uses a cloned Tokyo Marui MWS GBB engine system, the Toxicant KP9 is a great option for those looking for a compact AK-platform that is already equipped with modern force-multiplier furniture out of the box. Add that to the fact that with the pre-installed NPAS system, it is a viable gun to use in various tactical scenarios, both indoors and out.
