The Silverback VKS Vykhlop Airsoft Spring-Action Sniper Rifle

The VKS is a Russian bullpup, semi-automatic, magazine-fed sniper rifle chambered for the 12.7x55mm STs-130 subsonic round. The weapon is also known by the name VSSK and, more commonly, Vykhlop, which means "Exhaust" due to the size and shape of the suppressor. It was developed in around 2002 for the special forces units of the FSB.

The 12.7x55mm VKS silenced sniper rifle is intended for special operations that require silent firing and penetration much superior to that provided by the 9x39mm VSS silenced sniper rifle. Typical targets for the VKS are combatants in heavy body armor or behind cover; the rifle utilizes the exhaust pipe-looking integral suppressor.

Introducing the Silverback VKS Vykhlop spring-powered bullpup airsoft sniper rifle. Even though the real-steel VKS is semi-automatic, this one by Silverback is, by design is a unique spring bolt-action that features an extremely smooth, straight pull bolt, in contrast to traditional bolt-action designs. To achieve such a smooth pull, they utilize a two-piece relay interface where the bolt rides the tracks of the charging handle. The bolt-action engine is also built on Silverback's proven spring bolt-action architecture, incorporating key cylinder, piston, and trigger internals that are shared across the SRS and TAC-41 platforms, making it highly modular and upgradable.

The inner barrel and hop-up chamber assembly uses standard AEG spec, making it fully compatible with AEG-spec buckings. The hop-up chamber features a TDC-design, which allows for more consistent accuracy and less deviation, as the VKS and its barrel components are fully optimized for use with heavier BBs like 0.40g all the way up to 0.48g. Internally, the primary fire control components are steel-reinforced, making it ready to use with stronger springs if the user so chooses. The piston spring is APS-spec and is easy to change, as the VKS features a QD piston end plate design, allowing the user to swap springs in a flash. The VKS comes with a 68-round magazine, giving users an ample amount of rounds before needing to reload. The VKS also utilizes a self-capture feeding tube that stores an additional 5 rounds, leading to a total of 73 rounds! The self-capture feeding tube prevents BBs from falling out when reloading, a great QOL feature for most, as other Airsoft sniper rifles on the market always have BBs dropping out when performing reloads.

This particular version of the Silverback VKS includes the silencer. Made with real fiberglass just like the real-steel, the inside of the suppressor is lined with dense noise-dampening foam, making it so that each shot is incredibly quiet. This is a game-changer, especially when using it outdoors! The Silverback VKS is, to date, the quietest Airsoft sniper rifle on the market due to its massive "exhaust" suppressor. You can barely hear the "thwoop" of the muzzle at five meters, so at longer ranges, you are virtually undetectable, which is really cool.
