RWA x ARES Project

The Korth Sky Marshal is a revolver chambered for the "rimless" 9mm cartridge. Typically, the 9mm is found in semi-automatic handguns. However, Korth has come up with a unique design for a revolver that can utilize the readily available cartridge. The Sky Marshal has a number of interesting characteristics beyond 9mm use. One of the most obvious is the addition of a Picatinny rail along the right side of the barrel and behind the cylinder, both at a 90-degree angle. Many people like to add a white light or laser module to their defensive handgun, and this would give users an easy way to do so. The Sky Marshal is a relatively compact revolver equipped with a 2-inch barrel and full underlug. It does not appear to be a replacement for a J-frame revolver, but might serve as a nice alternative to an N or L-frame in a snub-nosed configuration. The real gun weighs 19.75 ounces unloaded as it was designed primarily to be a foolproof combat combat-ready, compact defensive revolver that can utilize +P or +P+ 9mm cartridges. The Sky Marshal is both double-action and single-action capable and comes with a skeletonized hammer.

As of now, the real-steel Korth Sky Marshal revolver has been discontinued, but it remains a sought-after revolver for both collectors and active carry civilians due to its unique size, weight, and, of course, choice of ammunition. It's not every day you see a revolver chambered in the same round as a Glock or P320. And so, RWA has decided to bring this unique carry revolver back to life in the form of a proper skirmishable Airsoft revolver, and who better to bring it to life with than ARES, who made one of the best Airsoft revolvers that is reliable, durable, and accurate. The ARES 686 Airsoft revolver series. We present to you the RWA x ARES Korth Sky Marshal CO2 Airsoft revolver.

The RWA x ARES Sky Marshal is a near 1:1 replica of the real deal, albeit heavier, weighing in at 1086 grams or 38.4 ounces. This is due to the heavy-duty metal construction of the entire gun itself. This is done to ensure that the Sky Marshal can more than handle the wear and tear of Airsoft skirmishes without having to break the bank with more expensive materials. The RWA x ARES Sky Marshal is built on the same reliable CO2 system as the ARES 686 to ensure partial parts compatibility for easy maintenance, and allows for the potential future upgrades to be designed and released. The revolver is equipped with a stout stainless steel inner barrel for increased precision and works in tandem with the TDC adjustable hop-up system, allowing users to fine-tune the accuracy with heavier BBs like 0.30g to 0.40g onwards for outdoors. The Sky Marshal, as previously mentioned, is powered by a single 12g CO2 cartridge with the cartridge chamber located in the grip portion of the gun. Sky Marshal is utilizing the same CO2 engine as the ARES 686 for a more durable CO2 seal and consistent gas output in both SA and DA. The grip panels are rubberized overmolds that protect the CO2 chamber while giving the users a very secure and ergonomic grip under extreme weather conditions. The cylinder yoke and stop mimic how the real Sky Marshal cylinder rotor functions, but are also very practical in their design, which secures and locks up the cylinder in proper alignment with the bore during shooting, allowing for consistency in both single and double action. The shells themselves are proper 1:1 replicas of 9mm hollow points, with each able to hold one 6mm BB for a total of 6 shots per cylinder load. In contrast to how the real steel Sky Marshal does not need the use of moon clips due to the rimless design of a 9mm cartridge, the RWA x ARES Sky Marshal allows the use of the same moonclips utilized by the ARES 686. This is done as a quality of life upgrade for people who wish to skirmish with this revolver for fast reloads, as a real 9mm speedloader is hard to come by due to there being very few revolvers being chambered in 9mm. The RWA x ARES Sky Marshal also features the same 90-degree Picatinny rail sections, so users can have the option to install micro weapon lights and laser modules that are designed for compact handguns.

The revolver's trigger action is extremely smooth on double action, allowing for fast follow-up shots without having to deal with trigger finger fatigue. The trigger is also outfitted with a screw for slack adjustment, allowing for precise trigger resetting position. On single-action, the trigger pull is extremely light but crisp, like breaking a thin piece of glass by pressing on it. Satisfying to say the least. Overall, the RWA x ARES Sky Marshal CO2 revolver is a great choice for Airsofters looking for something truly unique to play with that is both skirmishable and functional. It also makes a great piece for collectors and revolver enthusiasts, considering the fact that the real Korth Sky Marshal is discontinued in production.
