FN Five-seveN 5.7x28mm

The FN Five-seven, often stylized as Five-seveN, is a semi-automatic handgun developed and manufactured by FN Herstal in Belgium. Its name reflects the bullet diameter of the 5.7x28mm cartridge, which was known for its extremely high velocities reaching upwards of around 2,500 feet per second with 23 to 40 grain projectiles and was highly effective against body armor and offered significant stopping power compared to more traditional rounds like the 9mm, while the unique capitalization highlights the manufacturer's initials, FN. The Five-seven is currently in service with military and police forces in over 40 nations, including Canada, France, Greece, India, Poland, Spain, and the United States. In the US, the Five-seven is currently in use by numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Secret Service.
