MK16 URG-I M4 GBBR "EVO"
The M4 carbine is a rifle system developed in the United States during the 1980s. It is a shortened version of the M16A2 rifle. The M4 is extensively used by the US military, which decided to largely replace the M16 rifle in the U.S. Army (2010) and the U.S. Marine Corps (2016) combat units as the primary infantry service rifle. The M4 has been adopted by over 60 countries worldwide, and has been described as "one of the defining firearms of the 21st century". Since its adoption in 1994, the M4 platform has undergone over 90 modifications to improve the weapon's adaptability, ergonomics, and modularity, including: the M4A1 variant, which possesses a thicker barrel and a replacement of the burst-fire control group with a fully automatic one; the SOPMOD, an accessory kit containing optical attachments; and the underbarrel weapons such as M203 and M320 grenade launchers to the Masterkey and M26-MASS shotguns.
The Upper Receiver Group-Improved (URG-I) is a U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) program to further improve the durability and reliability of the SOPMOD Block II series by introducing additional component improvements. First fielded in 2018, the main improvements are the lighter Geissele Mark 16 free-float rail that incorporates M-LOK as the primary mounting method and a Daniel Defense cold hammer-forged barrel that returns to the lighter "government" profile contour, as well as a mid-length gas system. Although initially an Army program, the URG-I has seen use by other branches of SOCOM as well.
This version of the VFC URG-I M4 gas rifle is a fully built rifle based on the aforementioned "Upper Receiver Group-Improved" initiative. The VFC VR16 URG-I GBB Airsoft rifle employs the latest VFC V3 internal gas system designed for their M4 / AR15 series gas Airsoft rifles, which boasts great gas efficiency and stable FPS. However, this rifle also incorporates VFC's new "EVO" hop-up assembly system, which allows for quick access to the inner barrel and hop-up rubber without having to remove the outer barrel or handguard assembly, making upgrades that much more easy to achieve. The EVO hop-up assembly also features a more precise TDC (top dead center) design with a tactile rearward adjustment screw. Gone is the guide hop system in favor of a significant accuracy boost with the TDC. The hop-up chamber itself is made with steel, making it that much more durable and robust. The rifle includes all the necessary hex key for access to the inner barrel as well as for the hop-up adjustment.
Overall, the V3 system coupled with the new EVO hop-up system makes for an incredibly realistic, reliable, and accurate package.
