DESCRIPTION

The Tanaka M49 2 inch Bodyguard Steel Jupiter Finish gas revolver is a faithful replica of the pocket .38 Special revolver made by S&W. This gun is a true gem, at first glance, looks as if it is a metal gun due to the premium JUPITER finish, JUPITER stands for Jewelish Ultra Plated InTEgrate Resin. As such, this detailed finish can easily deceive even the keen-eyed among us, as the revolver is made of high-quality resin and plastic. Do not be fooled, though plastic, nothing about his M49 can be considered "cheap" as it carries a fair amount of weight and when paired with an assortment of metal parts, it certainly feels as if it's a metal gun. Metal parts such as the hammer, trigger, and cylinder give the pistol a real-life-like aesthetic making it not only a great choice for collectors but can even be used in film or cosplay as a prop!

Shooting the gun is a joy as the double action is smooth and direct, pulling the trigger slowly feels buttery with no "grit" feeling at all. When the hammer is pulled back, the trigger breaks soft and the sound of the cylinder rotating exemplifies the effort Tanaka put in to make this revolver a standout.

The M49 is cylinder-loaded with a loader, the shells are not removable. This allows for a higher capacity, 10 rounds, and you don't have to worry about losing shells. The hop-up is fixed and is perfectly designed to work with HFC134a or duster gas.

Lovely Little Pocket Pistol

I love this thing. The finish is gorgeous and pretty wear resistant (though it's not like I test that by spiking the gun on asphalt) and the pistol, though made out of plastic, feels like metal and looks like it too! And even for its small design, you can get plenty of shots out of this revolver with just one fill. Now accuracy, with a 2 inch barrel, was never going to be the best, with some shots going slightly wide the moment the BB leaves the barrel, but that isn't really a downside to me, and this pistol is only really a backup to the sidearm, for point blank ranges only. Feels amazing to hold and though the idea of not having shells felt slightly off at first, I really love the design of this system from Tanaka. Very happy with this purchase and will probably look for more Jupiter finished snub nosed revolvers in the future (Looking at you M37 Airweight).
