Green gas has been the staple for many Airsofters for years, with green gas being used to power most gas-blowback Airsoft pistols, rifles, shotguns, and even grenade launcher shells! However, in some countries, pre-mixed green gas that is designed for Airsoft is expensive for the average Airsofter, and in some cases, is completely banned or legally restricted for purchase. (For e.g., South Korea, Japan)

But fear not, for there is an alternative that is cheaper and more readily available. Standard propane gas can be used as a suitable substitute in most cases, as it is actually the exact same gas as pre-mixed Airsoft green gas, minus the deodorization and silicone oil. Because they are chemically the same gas, their pressure behavior is identical and changes entirely based on the ambient temperature. At standard room temperature (70 degrees Fahrenheit or 21 degrees Celsius), both propane and pre-mixed Airsoft green gas sit at a vapor pressure of roughly 105 to 115 PSI (pounds per square inch). However, as they are liquefied gases, their pressures shift dramatically depending on how hot or cold it is outside.

Temperature-Pressure Relationship:

It is also equipped with an integrated silicone O-ring to prevent leaks and has a side inlet port that allows you to inject your own mix of silicone oil, thereby replicating standard Airsoft green gas. It is recommended to mix 2-3 drops of silicone per 5-8 magazine fills for optimal performance and overall O-ring lubrication on both magazine and piston seals.

Special Note for Customers in South Korea:

If you plan to use domestic Korean camping gas canisters to replace standard green gas, please be aware that the threads on Korean canisters are different from US-standard tanks. To connect a Korean camping canister to this Madbull Propane Adapter, you will need a separate conversion adapter to bridge the two standards.

Korean/International Canisters: Use the standard EN417 Lindal Valve (7/16" UNEF thread).

US Propane Tanks: Use the CGA 600 (1"-20 UNEF) standard thread, which this Madbull adapter is designed for.

!!! Important Gas Pressure Warning !!!

Please note that most standard Korean camping canisters contain a mix of butane and propane, resulting in significantly lower pressure than pure propane.

At a standard room temperature of 21 degrees C (70 degrees F), a comparison of pressures shows:

Standard Green Gas / Pure Propane: ~110 PSI

Tokyo Marui HFC134a (Duster Gas): ~70 PSI

Standard Korean Camping Mix: ~50 PSI

Because the local camping gas mix sits at around 50 PSI, it may be weaker than even Marui's low-pressure HFC134a gas, which can make your gas blowback (GBB) gun feel incredibly sluggish. For optimal performance, look specifically for local "Winter Blend" or "Extended Life" camping canisters. These feature a much higher percentage of propane, which provides the higher vapor pressure needed for crisp and reliable cycling.
