Nambu Type 14 GBB Airsoft Pistol
The Nambu pistol series are a Japanese series of semi-automatic pistols produced by the Koishikawa Arsenal, and is later known as the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal company. The series has three variants, the Type A (the first Nambu batch), the Type B (also known as the Baby Nambu), and the type 14. The Nambu pistols were designed to replace Japan?s earlier service pistol, the Type 26 revolver.
The pistols were designed by Kijiro Nambu and saw extensive service in the Empire of Japan during the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Pacific War. The most common variant, the type 14, was used mostly by officers, who had to pay for their pistols themselves. Nambu pistols were symbols of prestige, often carried in fanciful holsters, and were used more as a means of ornament and status rather than for fighting. Japan produced only about 400,000 Nambu pistols over the course of WW2, compared to the United States which made over a million M1911 pistols. Alongside other Japanese weapons, such as guntos and Arisaka rifles, many American servicemen took Nambu pistols home with them as war trophies. Production of Nambu pistols ceased after the end of the war and Nambu pistols were replaced by M1911A1s provided by the US to the Japan Self-Defence Forces and police. Up to 1,000 Type 14s remained in use with the Coast Guard until the production of 8mm Nambu ammunition ceased in the 1960s. These pistols were then replaced with Japanese-made revolvers.
Marushin has taken upon themselves the task of reproducing high-quality, fully functional, shootable gas-blowback 1:1 replicas of this historic firearm. The Marushin Nambu Type 14 GBB Airsoft pistol is a beautiful pistol to behold. Available as Early and Late model versions with either silver finish or black (excellent heavy-weight) finish, both with authentic wood grips. The Marushin Nambu Airsoft pistols feature a fully functional safety mechanism and authentic period correct roll-marks on the receiver and safety lever. The pistols also come with real-wood grip panels that adds to the aesthetic and overall feel of the gun itself. The Marushin Nambu pistols also features an adjustable hop-up system which is accessible and easily adjusted via a grub screw found on the ejection port. The pistol comes with a 11 round 6mm BB magazine that is powered by green gas. The Late model version of the Nambu specifically features an enlarged trigger guard that accommodates the use of thicker gloves.
Overall, the Marushin Nambu Type 14 Series of GBB Airsoft pistols is a great piece to have when running a WW2 officer loadout in an Airsoft game, and is most definitely a must have to add to an Airsoft Arsenal Collection!
