BONEYARD PTS ACR AK Airsoft AEG

The Magpul Masada rifle, developed by Magpul Industries in the early 2000s, was a modular assault rifle that later evolved into the Adaptive Combat Rifle (ACR) following a manufacturing licensing agreement with Bushmaster Firearms International for civilian use and Remington Arms for law enforcement and armed forces. The ACR was a contender in the now-defunct Individual Carbine competition, which aimed to replace the M4 Carbine rifles. At the time, the Masada was an innovative solution, featuring unique elements from Magpul such as a quick-change barrel / trunnion, a non-reciprocating charging handle, and storage compartments. It incorporated components from various rifle platforms, including the charging handle and upper receiver from the FN SCAR, the short-stroke gas system of the AR-18, and the polymer furniture of the G36 and XM8, along with the fire control group and trigger from AR-15s. The Masada made a notable appearance in Activision's video game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2009), through a deal between Remington and Activision. However, its exposure was limited due to the manufacturer?s bankruptcy and restricted support, which hindered the rifle's success. Nonetheless, its innovative features and design garnered recognition within the airsoft community as a unique, modular, and lightweight platform.

In collaboration with PTS Syndicate, the Magpul Masada rifle has been introduced to the airsoft market as an AEG rifle in a 7.62 AK configuration. It features an 11.5-inch quick-detach outer barrel with 14mm CCW threading for muzzle devices, a modular PTS MOE Handguard that allows for the attachment of Magpul MOE rail panels and MVG foregrips, as well as a monolithic upper Picatinny rail interface for optics mounting. The Masada includes an interswappable charging handle that can be configured for left or right-handed use, providing access to its rotary dial hop-up. Its CNC aluminium upper receiver is adorned with licensing, trademarks, and rollmarks from PTS and Magpul, while the 7.62 lower frame accommodates PTS TPM-AK magazines. The rifle is equipped with the recognisable ACR stock, featuring adjustable cheek height and a six-position stock length to enhance shooter comfort and control. Additionally, the foldable stock option allows for compact manipulation in confined spaces or for convenient storage. The stock also includes QD points for the installation of QD slings. At its core, the PTS 8mm v2 Gearbox is a metal gearbox with a quick-spring change feature, enabling rapid spring replacement to meet both indoor and outdoor field requirements. The rifle boasts fully ambidextrous fire controls, including Safe-Semi Auto fire selection, a centralised bolt, and a paddle mag release design for accessibility by both left and right-handed shooters.

This model is not merely an inferior alternative; it represents a more conservative and sustainable choice.

The Boneyard version features a slightly weathered appearance; it's missing the handguard, yet it remains fully functional.
