The ORSIS T-5000 was the first bolt-operated sniper rifle developed by ORSIS (Promtechnology Group) that was produced in their Moscow factory. During the rapid modernization of the Russian army in 2008, the army was purchasing a large number of western rifles from Barrett and Arctic Warfare Magnum, to which, ORSIS saw an opportunity to bridge that gap with an indigenously produced rifle that was able to achieve the same range and accuracy that its western competitors offered.

The T-5000 is a rifle that breaks the traditionalist Soviet and Russian rifle design with its CNC skeletal frame and modular design, emphasizing precision and build quality over mass production and ruggedness. The rifle was initially offered in .308 and .338 chambering options, with further expansion of calibers up to 12.7mm later introduced in 2022. As mentioned, the rifle was designed for quality and precision, utilizing modern designs such as modular customizability for peripheral accessory options, and a skeletal chassis to save weight, with considerations of ergonomic comfort for the shooter as the rifle includes an adjustable cheek and butt pad folding stock, rubberized pistol grip and an integrated Harris bipod mount. Though following the classic bolt action assembly for its bolt, the T-5000 moves the safety directly onto the fluted bolt, whilst installing a triple chamber muzzle brake that reduces the felt recoil roughly by half. Today, the rifle is well known for its precision qualities and is used by Russian military snipers, along with procurement from the FSB, FSO, and Rosgvardiya units.

Bear Paw themselves have indeed gone all out in their effort to replicate the T-5000 in all its glory in Airsoft form! From its externals with its high-quality CNC machined aluminum receiver and outer barrel to the beefed-up CNC steel fire-control group and 37cc cylinder, the Bear Paw T-5000 packs a lot of features that are perfect for an Airsoft sniper rifle of this caliber.

Externally, the upper and lower receiver as well as the stock assembly are all made from high-grade CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and are topped off with a nice durable Hardcoat anodized finish, allowing for an overall lightweight package for a gun of this size. The front handguard is also made of the same material which is perfect for when the end user needs a little bit more room for utility when setting up the T-5000 with accessories, as such the handguard features M-LOK slots on the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock position for all your accessory mounting needs. The outer barrel is also made from the same 6061-T6 alloy and is kitted with a big 24mm CW muzzle break which looks absolutely menacing. The pistol grip is super ergonomic with it set at just the right angle and gripping the pistol grip feels like putting on a tailor-made suede glove. With its overall external construction, the rifle is light enough and very comfortable to grip that you can shoulder the gun with one arm without any problems, though with all that being said, the real magic of this rifle is mostly found under the hood so to speak.

Internally, the T-5000 is packed full of reinforcement and heavy-duty components, the fire control group is made using forged medium carbon steel for extra ruggedness and durability. The 37cc cylinder is also made of steel which is great for handling stronger and tougher springs for more FPS if the end-user so wishes. However, the highlight of the T-5000's internals is the fact that apart from the trigger and safety assembly, most other internal components like the piston, cylinder, and spring guide are all fully compatible with the legendary Tokyo Marui VSR-10 Airsoft sniper system which has been the bread and butter of many Airsoft snipers for nigh on a decade, meaning that the Bear Paw T-5000 Airsoft sniper is able to utilize the vast aftermarket parts and upgrades of the VSR-10 system. Want to have pinpoint accuracy at 50-80 meters? Slap on a PDI 6.01mm precision inner barrel no problem! Want higher FPS? Drop in a Laylax VSR PSS10 190SP piston spring. The point is this gun is built to cater to the most dedicated and hardcore Airsoft snipers out there and makes a great premium Airsoft sniper rifle for those who are looking to get into Airsoft sniping themselves.
