The Holosun Advanced Enclosed Micro Sight (AEMS) X2 represents the second generation of the AEMS platform, significantly enhancing the user experience for AEMS optic owners. Featuring a revised lens design, the advanced optical lens of the AEMS reduces parallax by 50%, thereby improving clarity and accuracy of its 2 MOA red dot. The AEMS includes a manually adjustable dot brightness with 10 daylight and 2 night settings, complemented by a Shake Wake sensor that automatically turns off the reticle after 10 minutes of inactivity (default setting), thereby extending battery life when the AEMS is not in use. The highly sensitive motion sensor reactivates the optic at the slightest detection of movement. Additionally, Holosun has updated the mounting footprint of the AEMS, incorporating a total of 4 recoil posts to ensure absolute zero retention of the reticle, preventing loss of zero even if the optic is dropped or impacted. Despite the addition of 2 recoil lugs, the AEMS X2 remains compatible with optic mounting solutions designed for the original AEMS footprint.

As a CORE variant of the AEMS line, this economically designed optic sacrifices some features found in the more advanced PRO model, such as the multi-reticle system, automatic brightness adjustment with a forward-facing light sensor, and solar panel capability. However, it still offers an impressive battery life of approximately 50,000 hours for its CR2032 battery. As an enclosed optic, it effectively protects the reticle from environmental elements, with nitrogen purging and airtight sealing preventing debris and fogging within the optic housing. This design deviates from the conventional T1-style 20mm tubular optics, offering a spacious square sight picture with dimensions of 28x22mm, nearly doubling the glass area of traditional tubular designs while maintaining the same structural profile. The AEMS CORE features a 2 MOA dot and high-quality glass with a multi-layered coating that enhances light transmission and minimizes glare, while its highly reflective coating delivers industry-leading reticle intensity, clarity, and battery efficiency. The reticle adjustment allows for 50 MOA in both windage and elevation, with increments of 0.5 MOA, enabling precise fine-tuning of the AEMS.

The CORE variant of the AEMS features a housing constructed from 7075 aluminum, a robust choice for optic housing, capable of functioning in temperatures ranging from -30 to 60 degrees Celsius. The optic is designed to endure harsh environmental conditions and is rated IP67 for waterproofing.
