SIG 551
SIG 551 AIRSOFT
The SG 550 is a series of assault rifles manufactured by Swiss Arms AG, formally a division of SIG in Switzerland. Developed from the earlier SIG SG 540 and introduced in 1990, the design of the SG 550 emphasized modularity where the weapon family was to include several variants of the base design including compact carbines like the SIG 551 that would be issued to rear-echelon, support troops and paratroopers. Another aim was to reduce the overall weight of the rifle while retaining comparable or improved accuracy out to 300m. As such the SG 550 series of rifles have seen widespread use with over 25 nations adopting the rifle. The airsoft SIG 551 has a very limited selection of models with only the GHK Airsoft SIG 551 Tactical GBBR (QPQ) being available.
