SIG SAUER P229

The SIG Sauer P229 is a compact variant of the SIG P226 designed specifically for the US market and first produced in 1992 for law enforcement and military personnel. The P229 differs from the P226 by having a shorter barrel and a milled steel slide to handle the greater pressures of the SIG .357 and .40 S&W ammunition with the pistol requiring only a barrel swap to change between the two calibers as they shared the same magazine. The P229 airsoft pistol comes in several models, these include the officially made SIG Sauer P229 Airsoft Green Gas Pistol (by SIG AIR) which is made by SIG AIR, a subsidiary of the real steel SIG Sauer that manufactured the real P229 and the more affordable KJ Works P229R KP-02 GBB Airsoft Pistol.
