SIG SAUER P228

The SIG Sauer P228 is a compact variant of the SIG P226 available only in 9x19mm Parabellum and commonly used in law enforcement for duty or concealed carry. The P228 carries the title of being the first official purposely designed compact variant pistol when it was first introduced in 1989, setting off a trend by manufacturers of compact variants of numerous other popular pistols. The Sig P228 was officially adopted by the by the US military Police, Naval Aviation and Military Criminal Investigation Command as the M11.
