The FN 509 is a polymer frame striker-fired semi-automatic pistol manufactured by FN America with a design originally based on the FN FNS. Originally developed with assistance from Larry Vickers as FN’s entry to the US Army’s XM17 Modular Handgun competition in 2015, it lost the competition to the Sig P320 but FN brought their entry to the commercial market in 2017 where it has seen use in law enforcement becoming the standard issue sidearm of the LAPD in 2021. Like its real counterpart, the airsoft FN 509 is a very new replica and currently only has one manufacturer in the form of the EMG FN Herstal Licensed FN 509 GBB Airsoft Pistol - DE (by Double Eagle) and the EMG FN Herstal Licensed FN 509 GBB Airsoft Pistol - Black (by Double Eagle) though for such a pistol we are sure more will follow.
