The Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle, or SCAR, ranks among the most regonisable firearm behind the M16 and AKM families. This lightweight, modular platform features a short-stroke gas piston system, ergonomics ambidextrous controls, and remarkable adaptability for various mission sets. With a prestigious special forces pedigree from USSOCOM, the SCAR has been adopted by numerous law enforcement agencies and military units alike, capturing the interest of firearms enthusiasts and establishing a cultural presence in military-themed video games, movies and media.

Developed by the Belgian manufacturer FN Herstal in response to the USSOCOM 2004 Competition, the SCAR was designed to modernise the arsenal of SOCOM units. Its integration of Picatinny rails meets the special forces demands for flexibility and customisability. Being the selected platform of the competition, the SCAR was designated as the FN Mk 16 (SCAR-L, chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO) and the FN Mk 17 (SCAR-H, chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO), entering limited service in 2009 with elite units such the 75th Ranger Regiment. The Mk 16 version was later cancelled in continued production with USSOCOM, it did see continued use with other known entities, such as the RoK 707th, US LAPD, German GSG9, French RAID and such.

The Cybergun x Guns Modify version of the SCAR-L introduces the first MWS (Modular Weapon System) integration into a SCAR platform. This model mirrors its real-steel counterpart in a close-quarters configuration, featuring a 10-inch outer barrel, a single-piece CNC-machined aluminum upper with quad Picatinny rails, and a polymer lower receiver adorned with detailed FN trademarks and engravings. As a Mk 2 version, it incorporates a non-reciprocating charging handle that is slightly angled for better accessibility, even with accessories mounted above.

Equipped with the MWS ZET system, this rifle offers partial compatibility with MWS aftermarket parts, allowing for extensive customization. Developed by Guns Modify, it promises outstanding performance as the first SCAR-L with an MWS system. The internals include components from their previous launches, such as the EVO Bolt Set, Trigger Box, and Magazine. The only non-compatible part is the SCAR-L bolt assembly, though the nozzle and piston assembly can be swapped with MWS components.

The SCAR-L comes paired with the Guns Modify P-MAG v3 GBB M4 Mag, a revolutionary lightweight 35-round magazine featuring a core-and-case design for easy reloads. Simply push the butt plate open and press the button inside to slide the core out. For optimal performance, it's recommended to apply silicone oil to the exterior of the core, as it may be stiff out of the box. A functional temperature thermometer sticker on the core helps monitor magazine temperature, ensuring it stays within an optimal range.
