Clarence Lai, AKA Airsoft Surgeon, is known for handcrafting fully fine tuned GBB Race Pistols and M4 / AK GBBR which are upgraded with incredibly reliable internals, air seal parts are carefully reworked to perfection and the final outcome looking exquisite.

This EVO AR IV is based on an Inokatsu M4 GBBR Series and known for its reliable gas blow back system in the airsoft market. Airsoft Surgeon makes sure that every cut and trim is made with precision as the receiver have received lightening cuts to be lighter for extremely fast cycling and a sexy metal crunching sound with a metallic ring in the end when cycling the bolt.

It doesn't look like any other M4 especially after Airsoft Surgeon has tinkered with it, thus making it far more superior than any other GBBR on the market. The upper and lower receiver are sturdy and tough as they are forged. The hand guard is the M-LOK quad rail with a skeletonized fore grip and MOE pistol grip and features a standard collapsible stock. What makes the AR stand out is the flashy, externally cut cerakoted light grey body allowing you to see the internals. The overall look of the GBBR is absolutely beautiful!

On top of the receiver features a adjustable dot sight for engaging distance targets and close range targets. The trigger has been short stroked and the selector has been short-throwed for extreme quick operations.

You want to have the best magazine around when shooting this GBBR, so it comes with a 50 round magazine. With everything in place, the only thing to talk about is how it shoots. At a stable 400 fps, taking into account laws and restrictions of Hong Kong, this is enough to reach those targets out far.

All-in-all, this custom piece of airsoft mastery is designed for the expert and as close to a race carbine would get. Not a single aspect or detail of the replica has been overlooked. When it comes to custom aesthetics and performance, with a tactical balance between them, there is little that can surpass Airsoft Surgeon's creations.

  • 1x 50 Round Magazine

Bought this for less than 50% of its MSRP price(2,742USD), about 980 USD, this thing looks really plain compared to the other AS guns but it's still quite the beauty. The internals are all steel, the outer parts, top and lower receiver are forged aluminum(likely an allow). I really like how all the AS guns comes with a red dot of some sort, however, my red dot came with a broken lens cover, although, it's not a big deal. One problem that I do have is how I told redwolf to keep the original grey flashhider, which they did, but they replaced the inner thread adapter that connects to the outer barrel so they can fit an orange tip on it. It's a 14mm- which is fine, since most airsoft guns use 14mm- anyways, however, I wish they had told me they'd did that. My package came with the original grey flashhider(which no longer fits on the thread adapter they put) and they also gave me the original thread adapter, I just wish they didn't glue their own thread adapter to the gun. Other than the thread adapter issue that pissed me off a bit, I am ok with this gun. Keep in mind that AS guns are virtually all semi-automatic because it's for IPSC and shooting competitions, so, they will not have full auto for guns that would've otherwise had it. However, once again, you can simply swap some parts out and you'd likely restore the full-auto function. This EVO AR IV I have has been modified to stop at semi only, so, getting the appropriate replacement would restore the function back. A big thing to keep in mind with AS guns is that these are for competitions only, maybe some backyard planking, however, I highly don't recommend this for regular airsoft play, like on fields. The skeletonized receiver is very nice but it also means that dirt can get inside its internals, and, if you're a rough player, I say it takes a good drop to break the gun. Skeletonized receivers means that the gun would be lighter at the cost of structural integrity, so, the material the receiver is made of is very important and also how it's made. Airsoft Surgeon's quality on material usage is very good so the rifle's receivers having so much of its metal taken out of itself should hold up, no problem. Overall, 4/5, it's still quite expensive even if bought for less than 50% of its price. If you're not a hardcore airsoft collector, you can get some really good gear for 1000 bucks, with accessories and upgrades too. [RedWolf] Thank you so much for the review! We will notify our customer service team to keep the customer informed about the thread adaptors next time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
