M49

M49 AIRSOFT

The Smith & Wesson Bodyguard is a family of small J-frame revolvers with shrouded hammers manufactured by Smith & Wesson. They are available chambered in either .38 Special or .357 Magnum. Designed in response to criticism of the recently introduced Model 36’s hammer getting caught in clothing when being pulled out of its holster, Smith & Wesson introduced an improved version in 1955 sporting a redesigned frame with an integral hump that concealed a low-contoured hammer with the spur just barely protruding out. Thus, the double-action revolver could still be manually cocked for aimed single-action fire which S&W dubbed the Bodyguard. The M49 is the most popular variation of the Bodyguard sporting a steel frame that provided greater reliability and less felt recoil. The airsoft M49 is a niche revolver produced only by Tanaka in the form of the Tanaka Revolver S&W M49 Bodyguard 2 Inch Heavy Weight Ver.2 (Gas Version) - Black.
