M60

AIRSOFT M60

The M60 is a family of American general-purpose machine guns firing the then-new 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge. First introduced in 1957, the M60’s design drew heavily from the German MG42 and FG42 with its portability and sustained fire unlike the earlier M1919 which relied on a tripod to operate. The M60 saw heavy use throughout the Cold War where the weapon became an icon during the Vietnam War where it was commonly used both by infantry, vehicles and helicopter gunners and was exported to over 40 countries around the world. The airsoft M60 is an uncommon sight in airsoft fields primarily due to its weight but the M60 airsoft gun does have an iconic status especially amongst Cold War and Vietnam era reenactors; Ares has recreated two different models of airsoft M60 in loving detail with the ARES Airsoft M60 E4 and the ARES MK43 Mod 0 Airsoft M60 LMG AEG. A&K also has a version in the form of the A&K Full Metal M60 Airsoft AEG LMG - Black.
