The AKM (Avtomat Kalashnikova Modernizirovanniy) or ?automatic rifle Kalashnikov modernized" is an assault rifle designed by the very famous Mikhail Kalashnikov, the AKM is basically an upgraded version of the AK47.
The AKMS is the main variant of the AKM, the S (Skladnym Prikladom) meaning Folding Butt Stock. The AKMS was equipped with an under-folding metal shoulder stock in place of the more traditional fixed wooden stock.
The AIMS us a Romanian-produced version of the Soviet AKM assault rifle. Used by the military as the standard service rifle with the addition of a side-folding stock.
G&G has spared no expense in very accurately reproducing the Romanian AKMS AIMS. The body is constructed from metal with a FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) grip and Laminated Wood forward hand grip and upper hand guard. The AIMS feels extremely solid with no play on the body whatsoever. The side-folding butt stock feels great with a very reliable stock lock system. The fire selector lever is very solid mimicking that of the real steel, furthermore, the bolt carrier can be racked back all the way just like its real steel counterpart. The bodywork is exquisite with all the real steel markings and bolts in the correct places.
