Dytac 10.5 Inch CQB Outer Barrel Assembley for Tokyo Marui M4 Recoil AEG (Black)

More and more aftermarket parts for the Tokyo Marui SOPMOD M4 recoil AEG are dripping onto the market and now Dytac brings us a broad variety of outer barrel lengths in silver and black.

Many other external parts can add to the tactical effectiveness of your weapon as well as just making it look good but it is barrel length that forms the backbone of your weapons aesthetic. With an M4 receiver, it is the difference in barrel length that defines it as a rifle, carbine, CQB assault weapon or an SBR (short barreled rifle).

The 10.5 Inch barrel is popular with veteran players who use M4s in front line assault roles. Shortening an M4A1a standard 14.5 inch barrel by 4 inches is a 27.5% length drop. This does shorten your effective range a little bit but with a good setup it is still competitive.

The trade off gives you a barrel length that is still usable with normal length RAS front sets and handle just like a carbine but with a snubbed barrel which lets you move through dense terrain more easily.

Although a debated subject, one school of thought amongst veteran players is that the 10.5 inch barrel is the sweet spot compromise between accuracy/range and agility for outdoor middle range play.
